DAHABIYYA

On a 5 to 7 nights sailing program, your "dahabiyya" will anchor along chosen shores for their beauty and tranquility. You will sail at the wind's will, relaxing and enjoying from the deck the picturesque scenery; your guide will show you the must-see classical sites but also other unusual and authentic places reached only by the privileged few that have chosen this type of boat

During the 19th century, aristocrats, veteran travelers and writers have discovered the Nile and its treasures. They took time traveling the length of the Nile on board large sailing boats reminiscent of the ageless feluccas, dropping them near yet-to-be-discovered temples and enchanting villages along their route to uncover the marvels and sensations of the Nile valley.

Dahabiyya Boats
At the beginning of the 20th century (in the 1920s-1940s), seduced by this quiet, leisurely and comfortable mean of transport, Egypt's monarchy, its entourage and other sophisticated travelers journeyed on the Nile in style aboard these elegant "dahabiyya" where gracious living, fine food and amenities were fundamental to this unique and particular experience.

Today, these "dahabiyya" have been revived with modern comfort and conveniences. Their limited capacities offer from 6 to 8 cabins allowing their guests a romantic and intimate encounter with the essence of Egypt.
