OPTIONAL EXTENSIONS

ABU SIMBEL - The temples of Abu Simbel face east to receive the rays of the rising sun and are perhaps among the most magnificent monuments in the world. The Egyptian Government secured the support of UNESCO in 1964 for the removal and reconstruction of the two temples, when they were threatened by submersion in Lake Nasser due to the construction of high dam.

Flights can be arranged from Cairo or Aswan to Abu Simbel.

Fly from Aswan to Abu Simbel (almost 40 minutes) to visit its relocated temples built by Ramses II, 1200 B.C., then fly back to Aswan.

The two temples face east to receive the rays of the rising sun.

It is said that twice a year, the sun shines on the face of the King: once on his birthday and once on his coronation day. It is still a mystery to archaeologists how the ancient Egyptians could have designed and built such miraculous structures.

Duration: around five hours

OR stay one night in Abu Simbel and experience the fabulous Sound and Light Show. Visit the temple again in the morning before flying back to Cairo or Aswan.

 
Lake Nasser

LAKE NASSER CRUISE - Transfer by road from Aswan to a luxury boat for a 4 night cruise on Lake Nasser , visiting the remote monuments of Nubia which were rescued from the rising waters after construction of the Aswan High Dam. Cruise through the spectacular scenery of lake Nasser, sailing past Kasr Ibrim. Visit the temples of Abu Simbel, rescued from the rising waters, see the most spectacular Sound and Light show. Fly back to Aswan or Cairo

Sunset Safari - Prepare yourself to an unusual experience and share a few hours in the life of the Bedouins. On the way to the Bedouin village on board your 4x4 vehicle, you will view mirages scintillating in the horizon and from high spots you will be able to admire a panorama of mountains and sea. You will then be dropped at the Bedouin Village where you will rest in a Bedouin tent, enjoy tea and take a small tour on camelback. You’ll be treated to a typical Bedouin dinner consisting of a salad buffet, rice, BBQ kofta (ground meat) and chicken; mineral water and a soft drink are included. In the village, you will find the different natural medicinal herbs used by the Bedouins they claim cure certain ailments.
 
On the way back to Hurghada, stop at a strategic area in the desert to watch the brilliant stars of a desert sky.

Giftun Excursion by Boat

GIFTUN PARADISE (stop and lunch on Giftun Island) - Sail to the island of Giftun. The tour includes two snorkeling stops. Relax on the beach on the island where lunch will be served at the Paradise Restaurant. The open buffet includes fish, calamari, chicken, rice, fruits – no beverages are included.

Sail back to Hurghada.

Snorkeling equipment is provided.

Giftun Excursion by Boat

GIFTUN ISLAND (lunch on board, guests do not go on the island) - Your boat will leave the marina and sail towards the Island of Giftun, an area rich with coral reefs and a teeming variety of faunas where you will be able to snorkel and uncover this exhilarating underwater realm. A luncheon consisting of rice, salad, fried fish, desert will be fruits in season and mineral water & a soft drink will be served. Then sail back to your point of departure.

Two snorkeling stops and snorkeling equipment are provided.

Giftun Sea
Semi –Submarine or Submarine tour

Transfer by motor vehicle from your hotel to the harbour and take a tour on board the semi-submarine that partially submerges and has a 3.60 meters glass-bottom or board a submarine from where you will enjoy viewing the underwater marine life.

SHARM EL SHEIKH AND PETRA

Sharm El Sheikh, located on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula is an ideal resort to relax for a few days on one of its Red Sea beaches and bays famous for their rich coral gardens. It's underwater wealth of flora and fauna is sought by snorkellers and scuba-divers all over the world (professional and fully equipped scuba-diving centres abound in Sharm El Sheikh). Other water-sports are also available.

Excursions to St. Catherine's monastery and Mount Moses, the coloured Canyons and Tiran Island among other excursions are also organized from Sharm El Sheikh.

Combine this with a visit to the ‘rose red’ city of Petra.
