India has a wealth of palaces, castles, forts, stately mansions (havelis), which, over the years, have been converted into ‘heritage’ hotels. Exceptionally chic and atmospheric, these glorious hotels have been resurrected from ruin by their owners and restored to their former glory. Many of these are huge with rooms varying in shape and size.
