Heritage on Wheels – 4 Days / 3 Nights

Jaipur-Bikaner-Ramgarh – Mandawa-Dundlod/Nawalgarh-Jaipur

Day 1 – The journey begins with the boarding of the train in the metropolitan city of Jaipur famous for its blend of showcasing modern business centres alongside years old traditional Indian charm. The overnight journey will end with you awakening in the desert city of Bikaner.


 

Day 2 – Upon arrival in Bikaner you will be greeted with a hearty early breakfast before being taken on a short sightseeing trip to the nearby Jain Temple where you will see simply stunning views of the surrounding hills and town.

The area of Bikaner is surrounded by sand dunes and known as ‘camel country’due to it having one of the largest camel research and breeding farms in the world, here camels are a way of life and are used for many functions such as transportation and working on wells. Visiting a farm can be thirsty work so afterwards you can relax in the splendour  of Bhawan Palace for afternoon tea. Once feeling refreshed you will be ready for the short journey to the floral town Gajner set against the backdrop of a stunning lake.


Day 3 – The journey continues while you sleep in your luxury cabin, you will awake in the small town of Tal Chhapar known for having many species of migratory birds passing though. Here you will be able to enjoy something unique, Tal Chhapar has its very own type of grass called ‘Mothiya’ which has a very sweet taste, it can be eaten but is mostly grown for the local birds to eat.
The rest of the morning will be spent travelling and exploring the quaint town of Ramgarh internationally famous for its wooden furniture used by thousands of people both locally and abroad. Short visits will be paid to Mahansar and Mandawa where you can observe some original Indian architecture.

 



The final evening will be spent enjoying a meal at the nearby Dundlod castle followed by a local horse show.

When you wake up the tour will sadly be over and you will find yourself back in the bustling city of Jaipur.
