| Want to go back to a bygone age: a colonial tea planter but without the hard work and all the pleasure? Then this is just for you. Set above 2000 metres, Darjeeling provides a refuge from the heat during summer and it has stunning view of the Himalayas including Kanchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world. You can get to it by the toy train which these days is pulled by a small diesel engine. Spend 3 -4 days in Sikkim, then spend a few days at Glenburn Tea Estate and watch the tea picking and processing (in season March to Oct). Don’t miss the Rhinos at Kaziranga National Park. |
